Art Cries Out provides space for:

Art which is controversial, confrontational, and immediate.
Art which expresses outcry, outrage, and witness.
Art is what connects us to each other and ourselves.
Art is about dialogue and community.
Art Cries Out is a "not-for-profit" site and all rights to work are retained
by the individual artists.

We are a small group of artists who have launched Art Cries Out - without funding - hoping to fill a need in today's "Art World" by devoting space to protest art. The fee of $15 helps defray the costs of maintaining and developing our website. We need more artists submitting in order to survive, so please spread the word.

August 6, 2008 marks the 63rd year since an atomic
bomb was used on Hiroshima & Nagasaki. 63 years
later we have not escaped the threat of the nuclear
devastation of our world. We are haunted by the past
and live in fear of a future which seems increasingly
threatening. Nations rush blindly ahead to test and
possess nuclear weapons without regard for the peoples
of the world. Art Cries Out has selected 12 artists
whose work reflects this reality.
